This story began in 1967, when my Grandfather, affectionately known to me as "Wally", opened his showroom on City Road Cardiff, known then as "the road of a thousand cars". A true petrol head, he had spent his whole life around cars, and realised his dream career upon opening W J Hayward Car Sales Ltd. Spending 20 years trading in the same location until his retirement, and my father working closely with him, its no surprise that in turn, my father, who was, and still is, a self confessed petrol head, took to the same trade as Wally. At this point, is where my story begins. Some of my earliest memories are of my father and I, doing the twice a week trip to a car auction in Wiltshire, I can remember running around the car park, looking at all the different makes and models, and literally pretending to be a car myself! I was rapidly becoming the third generation of Hayward's to become fixated on these four wheeled machines. As I grew older, I learnt of more and more stories of MK2 Jag's, Twin Cam Lancia's, and many other cars from the past that always sparked my father's memories of the showroom on City road. Listening intently to these stories, and sitting behind the drivers seat, watching my father as he drove, i knew this was the career for me! Fast forward to the present day, still a petrol head from head to toe, with a life time of experience, and product knowledge, my name is above the door of a place where we understand the exciting, yet stressful process of purchasing your next used car, and with our expertise, determination, and love for the product, we aim to make this process as fun, and as stress free as it can possibly be.
